Waall .5

Exposition

On the occasion of Nuit Blanche 2024, the exhibition Waall.5 transformed the sale of artworks into a participatory barter experience, welcoming over 600 visitors and generating 247 exchange proposals for the 17 works on display.

Instead of monetary transactions, participants offered a wide range of goods and services: artist residencies, legal advice, text writing, a weekend in the mountains, trips to Abu Dhabi or Mexico, and even a week staying with a host in Hong Kong.

Initiated by togaether, Au Roi, and Atfu — a barter app dedicated to artwork exchanges between artists — Waall.5 not only served as a platform for contemporary art, but also sparked a deeper reflection on new ways of acquiring artworks, demonstrating that art can be valued in a more human and personal way.

Artists: Camille d’Auber, Dimitri Autin, Debby Barthoux, Kmar Douagi, Diane Gaignoux, Anaïs Gauthier, Paul Hennebelle, Noah Henry Cabello, Hannah Kuhlmann, Tommy Lecot, Amandine Maas, Anaïs Pessoz, Maëva Pillon, Léa Rivera Hadjes, Amélie Testenoire Lafayette, Thomas Wattebled, Giuliana Zefferi.
